My PFE reefer steps only fir the R40-23 cars that PRS produced. They do not fit all PFE class of cars. PRS made a model of the ACF built R40-23. The Mt Vernon built R40-23 had an entirely different center step.
These parts were very difficult do and get decent results. The results were not great, they were just decent. I had to scrap 50% of those that I cast.---- I am not making anymore of them at this time----. If I do decide to start over I'll need to make entirely new patterns with a different method of sprueing them, change the alloy, and correct the design from what PRS did. That means they won't match the plastic steps.
