The FAs and PAs were designed quite deliberately by Alco/GE to be a more
aesthetically distinctive alternative to the EMD "bulldog" nose. The guy who
designed them at GE had been designing toasters! Nevertheless, I think he done
good. As to Sharks, it's always well to keep in mind that Central (NYC) men
called them "Spaceships" for a very good reason. They look like something Buck
Rodgers would pilot. Just add some tail fins to complete the 1950s
rocket-with-rivets look.
