HI Bill --

The heavy use Tsunami info is really good to know.

The November issue of “Model Railroader” has a review of the new Athearn HO
DD40AX which has two Tsunami decoders and related speakers for true dual engine
sound, so I would guess for this moment at least, that is the best approach for
realistic sound from an E .

Brooks Stover has the cover of the issue and a nice article on scenery in the
issue as well. A quick glance did not give any overt indication that the
subject was done in S, but I think Brooks is well enough known by now that
most folks would already know. Once again, good work by Brooks!

Have fun!

Item 827118 is dual EMD 567 for E Units. I have a lot of E units to finish and
already have a stock of item 827101 which is the single EMD 567. Does anyone
have the dual 567? Is there a big and worthwhile difference in the sounds?

Many of us have been waiting for a very long time for Soundtraxx to make a
higher amp capacity Tsunami. I am probably just getting away with using the 1
amp unit for some of my locos like the EM-1. But for O Scalers and maybe some
larger S locos it is just not that easy. Protocraft is offering a ready to
use modified Tsunami that is capable of a continuous 3.5 amps.

at just $30.00 more list price for the modification.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
