I have seen the Lionel DCC compatibility demonstrated. While still currently
in the development stage, if there are no changes, locomotives so equipped will
operate on DC, AC, DCC and TMCC/Legacy with no modifications.

Watching the latest TCA video, (they start waving Flyer around near the 18
minute mark)

http://tcamembers.org/netvision/

it was pretty evident that the SD70 pilots will be different than the U33C.
They still swing, but independenly of the trucks. This is a feature
incorporated into their O Gauge Vision Line GE Hybrid locomotive. The pilot
will remain centered when nothing is coupled to the locomotive, but will swing
when something is coupled to them.

I think Lionel is still receptive to S Scalers,(MTH,too) but if we go in, guns
blazing, saying "do it OUR way or else the heck with you," we will only see
deep flange, big coupler stuff from both companies, then complain endlessly
about it. And, it would likely discourage any other major company from
considering offering S Scale.
