You said:  "I can't believe the complaining over Jeff's first attempt at
replacing the
annual NASG directory, with "THIS IS S.

"You complainers should be ashamed of yourselves! Jeff Madden has busted his
butt for years trying to put together our association' s bi-monthly DISPATCH
magazine and in his first attempt some of you knock it. "

I couldn't disagree more.  Just look at the photos.  Both Jeff Madden and Chuck
Garman (the publisher) have Adobe Photoshop at their fingertips.  Many of the
muddy photos should have been lightened/brightened, and it would have taken
literally minutes, not hours or days.  Some of the problem could also have been
the printer's.  The best way to solve this is to ask the printer for a couple
of proof sheets, which should provide enough information to adjust ink feeds
before the production run.  Chuck maybe checks this, maybe not.

I can ignore the textual and photographic composition much more easily than
ignoring photos whose detail is, well, missing.  I can't help noting that Ed
Loizeaux, Bob Werre, and yours truly have repeatedly offered our free services
for editing (Werre for photos, Loizeaux and Karnes for editing).  No one has
yet taken us up on any of this.

As to substituting "This is S" for the directory, need I remind anyone that the
directory is a benefit of membership that has been taken from us?  But that's
another topic that, thankfully, is being worked outside this forum.
