Group,

This opt-in/out is already there in the annual membership renewal forms, as well as in the online version as it stands today. If you are an NASG member, you can sign up for a log-in password, if you have not already done so before. Once you get that password, you can go to the NASG's web site, log in, and see your personal info. On that form you can change your options as to what you are willing to show. So, you can do it online or via the annual renewal form. That's been there for years.

The new online version of the membership directory is in the works. Stay tuned. As with the old version, the new version will only show that info for which each member has given permissions to show, and the information that is shown is only shown to logged-in NASG members. No information is ever shown to a general visitor to the nasg.org web site (just to be clear).

"Opt in" is a stronger position Have a Check box on the membership form that says something like "Yes, I want my contact information (provided above) published in the membership directory for other NASG members. Please note: while NASG will not provide your information to third parties outside of the directory, NASG has no control over the published directories once they reach the members and accept no responsibility for data once published."
