I think Brooks showed that we can have both on the same track. Maybe he saw the 
lack of scale wheels coming and made it work.  I will probably do the same and 
have one  transition car with Scale coupler and Flyer coupler and see how they 
work on my clubs high rail layout. 
Jim King needs to realize that the Highrail guys don't nessesarialy care about 
fidelity, just the factor of some new rooling stock. I think you have proved 
that.

Speaking as an "incusivist,"(is there really such a word?  If there is, I make 
no apologies for it.) I was putting HiRail wheels and Flyer compatible couplers 
on Pacific Rail Shops kits long before S Scale America by DPH was.

I have a spare Smoky Mountain ACL watermelon car that one of these days I'll do 
the same to, just to prove it can be done without sacrificing too much of the 
fidelity.

And, seeing that Brooks Stover's BC&G is essentially a HiRail railroad, does 
that make it a toy train by your definition???  He does have those deep 
flanges, after all...
