I've ordered the parts to begin what I can best describe as the Franken-hirailer!!!
Actually, it's a hi-rail Chevrolet G-506 employed by the US Signal Corps on the ARR to maintain trackside signals and telegraph lines, which was later turned over to the ARR but was never re-painted. http://www.alaskarails.org/pix/former-loco/MM-Railmobile.jpg Since, to the best of my knowledge, neither the G-506, nor similar Chevy panel van, is available in either 1:72 or 1:64, I'm hoping to create one by stitching together parts from several different kits. Specifically, I'm planning to take the cab off an Academy model of a Chevrolet CCKW, and mate it with the rear end of an Academy model of a Dodge WC-54 Ambulance (aka a panel van body). http://modelingmadness.com/review/misc/vehicles/us/gillis25c.jpg http://homepage.ntlworld.com/p.l.james/images/Dodge%20Ambulance%20front%20view.jpg I'm then going to attempt to custom build a frame, and fit this with a NWSL flea drive. Add electricity, and the Franken-hirailer will LIVE (Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaa)! ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
