Hi Ed;

Well, I read all of it; and not just because of being a moderator.

You are correct, lots of good information, also lots of speculation and
opinions without support. At work, we call it "rolling out the
jump-to-conclusions mat".

Funny how we think. You noted that it's been a long time since anything new
arrived in S (well, except the U-33s, Challenger, Big Boy... but the latter two
are definitely not "scale").

Just a week or so ago after looking at Bob Hogan's photos of the new NP boxcar
from the Supply Car, and the announcement of SOO stock car and a few other
things, I was thinking just how much NEW stuff was out there, considering one
of manufacturers has just been sold after a long period of enforced inactivity,
and the other two majors have been pretty slow in producing.

You are right that for new, non-brass RTR in scale, things have been slow.

Gentlemen….  It has been interesting listening, once again, to all the
conversation about Lionel.  It seems that every time Lionel does or says
something (anything) half the world approves and the other half complains
without even seeing or touching the product in question.  It is truly dismaying
to see all of this once again, but human nature is strange.  Not wanting to be
left out of the discussion, I’d like to add my comments here.  Enjoy them or
delete them.  Not sure I really care, but giving it some thought might just be
helpful to all of us.  Cheers….Ed L.  (the real me!)
<SNIP>END OF LIONEL EPISTLE.  How many read this to the end?  Just
curious….Ed L.  (the real me)
