Parts for a Scale Locomotive & Supply Berkshire. USRA style cab, Firepan, sandbox with the little sander valves, two front steps, and the steam chest. THIS STEAM CHEST HAS BEEN UPGRADED!!!! This is not the original width steam chest as originally cast and sold by the old SSL&S. The original steam chest was not wide enough to use for the current NASG standards. This steam chest has been widened by 0.090 of an inch. The steam chest was cut in half, a piece of solid brass was inserted in the middle and then silver soldered in place. The boiler saddle was then filled and recut. This allows the main rods to be placed farther apart so they don't bang into the valve gear when the drivers are moved out on the axles so they conform to the NASG standards. The valve gear hanger would also need to be widened but I don't have that part anymore. If you have a Berkshire kit and want to run it on the old standards I don't think this steam chest will work to well for you.
