Rhett and all,
Merry Christmas! I saw your note about tie plates. There are several sources
of S Scale tie plates, one is Monster Models who makes the tie plates for
various "weights" of rail.

I have a set, they are very nicely done, stain and weather beautifully. I will
use them in a small section I want looked at for an NMRA achievement award. I
will also use these for "junk" around the section house. Dave Hamilton did
this and also used some On3 switch parts, I think they were these,

I also have parts like this I got from Tomalco, he may still have them, I don't
see them on his web but he has tie plates also. Which it turns out I also have
some of. These are plastic and look quite good.
The Proto87 people also have some great track parts, tom Lennon looked at these
but I have no experience with them.

Anyway, I hope this satisfies what your looking for. Perhaps you will not need
to start a new project.
