Bill, I assume that you could just follow the link provided by Roy and
add to it. If we had a couple dozen guys adding to it--just photos of
that car in all kinds of situations with a new one added every couple
days, it just might turn some heads. Although exact numbers could be
debated, MRH has a subscriber base similar to RMC, so it reaches quiet a
few guys, many of them the younger crowd.
Many years ago the NMRA with the help of the UP had a 50+foot MP boxcar
that traveled the country with the NMRA logo applied. Members were
encouraged to photograph it wherever it was. In our case having that car
'travel' to everybody's layout is pretty neat.
I can see it running with some PRR hoppers on Bill Lane's layout, or
behind a NYC Mike on Ed's layout, maybe behind a Big Boy on Arden's
layout. I'll pose mine tonite, maybe pulled by a couple different trains!

Hi all --
Bill Fraley said his club that produced the car still has a bunch and
they
had considered making it the convention car for this year.
I like the blog idea, but can use an address to get there. I have several
of the Spiral Hill cars since the SLE&P interchanges cars with all
kinds of
railroads (the big plus of being a fictional railroad), and being a coal
hauler, the more hoppers the merrier!

Here's the idea--everyone who owns one (and we all should!) put the
car on
the nice part of your layout and do an interesting shot of it...then
submit
it to the blog at MRH. I don't think there are any or many
requirements to
adding your photo, we could semi-flood the pages with shots of Spiral
Hill
hoppers without going through some editorial selection process! This
could
be some of the best S publicity we've seen in a long time and it's pretty
much free, not to mention honoring Frank!

The Model Railroad Hobbyist website has a weekly thread where members
post
pictures of their layouts much like our old FNF thread here. I just
received
a Spiral Hill hopper (available on Ebay) and thought I'd honor Frank with
some pictures on MRH at
