CAREY:
I make about 80%-85% of the decals I use. I have an HP six-color ink jet,
D7160. I've collected images from all over the net and stored them in a folder
called, simply, Decals, with maybe 60 files such as Airplanes, Political, Booze
etc. To compose a sheet of decals I create an MS Word document and transfer the
stored images I want to use onto that document. MS Word is extremely easy to
use for manipulating images, i.e. size, ratio, cropping, contrast etc. I get my
decal paper from Micro-Mark though the stuff at local hobby stores is probably
just as good except most of it I've seen are 4"x6" as opposed to the 81/2"x11"
sheets from Micro-Mark. If I don't totally fill up a sheet with what I want, I
always fill up any open remainder with miscellaneous images for future use.
Once I've printed a sheet of decals I let them dry thoroughly and then spray
the sheets with three coats of Krylon clear. It doesn't matter if you spray
with gloss, matte or dull spray though I usually use gloss.

Has anyone tried the home made decals using decal paper and fixer spray?
There are several that claim to work but I hesitate to be the guinea pig to
test them.
