Thought I'd share some work I've been doing to create a standard gauge Forney-type 0-4-4 locomotive. I started with the Bachmann On30 Forney. I removed the pilot wheel and shortened the pilot deck. The remaining wheels were re-gauged to S standard. All O scale detail was stripped and replaced with castings from Precision Scale and Tomalco. The cab is a modified Banta kit. Rivet detail was added from MicroMark rivet decals. The prototype was a plant switcher for the Russell Co. in Massillon Ohio who built steam tractors and threshing machines. It was a Brooks product. I figure not many of us can read writing that small anyhow. SSL&S used to offer Baldwin plates, but I see they are listed as discontinued on their website.
