Since we are well on our way into 2013, I started a photo album for our models under construction this year, continuing a tradition started by Dave Branum. I have included a prototype and 2 model pics of the Des Plaines USRA composite gondola with Van Dorn ends. My research has not found any road but the Monon to use these ends on a gondola, although I can find them on boxcars. Since it is such a unique pattern, I had to have some of these cars on my layout. Monon modeler Chad Boas had made these ends for the HO Intermountain car, so I commissioned him to make some for me in S.
