The only visual problem is the handrails, too bad they didn't copy the AM
style of step hand rails that go down where they belong. Not sure why the
engineers designing an old cheap loco got them right and those doing a new more
expensive one can't? IIRC the AM loco can still get around those sharp flyer
curves too?
15:1 gearing sounds great, screw the pilots solidly to the shell and make new
handrails and it would probably be a good loco for the modern mainline modeler.
Lionel stuff is generally well built and sturdy. I have no need for a big road
loco but I'm looking forward to their modern freight cars ...DaveBranum
