From: Alan Lambert Fort Worth, Texas Pete,
Thanks for that update. I went to Railpictures.net and found Loco's #9372 and #9375 with Headlights in between the number boards. One more thing, my home should tell everyone that BNSF is a big road down here. I see everything and have seen both versions. Gentlemen, First let me thank Rich for his excellent review of Lionel's new SD70ACe model. Now, regarding the location of the headlights on the prototype it appears that both BNSF and UP have some locos with the headlights in the lower position and some with them in the higher position. This can be verified by checking the wonderful website at www.rrpicturearchives.net which has photos of both types. Most of BNSF's locos do seem to have the lights in the lower position but their (latest?) batch, with Numbers 9370-9399 have them in the higher position - as per the Lionel model. It's maybe a wee bit unfortunate that the model is inaccurate for Loco #9344 but it's not a serious fault - IMHO. So . . . Well done Lionel !
