Only once did I offer my advice for the S NMRA car. It was not even
solicited on their part. They wanted to make a common car, as close as
possible for all 4 scales. They chose the PRS covered hopper. I heard they
wanted 300 of them and was the usual NMRA fictional “souvenir” lettering
“Valley Forge Express” scheme. I said they would never sell 300 of them and
S Scalers do not buy bogus “T shirt” scheme cars. A real looking scheme
car - with a bogus car number – maybe. Of course they did not listen – why
should they? I was only going to monthly meetings for almost 3 years
previous to the convention. You are the all knowing NMRA – have at it.
The NMRA had 1993 S cars for YEARS+ later… I have 2 cars and they are still
not put together!
