The V&O car was offered as a tank car in O, HO and N. I don't think there was a readily available tank car in S at the time, but they could have changed the reefer to something like silver w/black lettering.
I can understand mixing things up for the sake of variety, I suspect that's why the Canadaigua Southern car was a PRS hopper. It is a nice car. There was a time when it seemed like every S club was offering an SHS billboard reefer and frankly, I was getting pretty tired of billboard reefers and didn't order some of them. Sometimes, I would prefer a good ol' 40' boxcar red boxcar with a roadname that hasn't been made yet. But, I suspect the majority of of the folks want something colorful as a commemorative.
