With only 13% reporting scale only that sounds like "most" are AF oriented to me. I've got no problem with that just as I've got no problem with the NASG having to cater to the majority of its members - as it should. I understand there are some very active scalers in the NASG who have tried to keep the balance but the general perception still remains the NASG is an AF oriented organization just like the perception remains the NMRA is a more scale oriented organization.
My original point still stands, you have to go with the organization you think best represents your interest in the hobby and supports your goals. With only 13% of NASG members identifying themselves as scale modelers it's no surprise there is not much cross-membership between the two organizations.
