I have no idea what you want me to agree with. Thus, I cannot agree with
something that is not clearly explained.
I see no evidence that the Lionel scale wheels on locos will not be conforming
to the NMRA/NASG specifications. The U33C with scale Lionel wheels ran
perfectly on my NMRA-gauged trackwork. I have no information leading me to
believe the SD70 scale wheels will be any different. My assumption, at this
point, is that the Lionel scale wheels on locos will all be the same and be
perfectly satisfactory on track built to NMRA/NASG specs. But that is an
assumption based on the U33C (1st and 2nd production runs) and little else.
The cylindrical hopper, however, is an animal of a different color. My
assumption for that car is that the wheels will be AF-compatible even though
Lionel will call them 'scale' as described in the first two pages of their 2012
AF catalog. How's that for a wild guess?
