Hi Earl -- I just spent a couple of hours going through books and you are correct – it seems that coaches had the road name and car number, sometimes near both ends of the car, sometimes centered, and that was it. I have decal sheets that have both “chair” and “coach” along with other car types, and I just wondered what the difference was...
The other info was you found was very interesting! Thanks! Bill W. ------------------ Bill, interesting question and I do not know the answer, even though I claim to be a passenger car fan. Here is a link I found on the subject: http://cs.trains.com/trn/f/743/t/193089.aspx Why are the decals an issue? Are you considering a decal that says "Chair Car"? or "Coach". My railroads did not use either term. - Earl Henry, Nashville
