CB&Q NW-2 #605 been working at Mooar Yard while "breaking in" after arriving
last week. during the break-in, a loose pick-up wire made itself manifest.
Increasing the pressure on the back of the offending wheel solved the problem,
and operations have been flawless.

During further testing, #605 did some switching at The Humongous Co., switching
the power house and diggingout some "Q" loads on the outer loading track. After
that, it went back over to Mooar Yard and made up a local for the K&W (a CB&Q
branch line South of Keokuk. Once that was accomplished, it left town with the
local, heading across Northern Missouri with some empty grain cars and a couple
of empty hoppers, plus some miscellaneous traffic.

Since the K&W doesn't really exist, Terminal District serves the purpose. The
procedure is to run the train into the yard, switch it out and line it up until
time to return to Mooar. From all appearances, this appears to be a successful
operation, and will probably become permanent. The only problem is that there
is no CB&Q yard engine at Mooar while the local is out on the K&W, so there may
be a CB&Q Baldwin S-12 in SHABBONA's future, after all. No problem there, since
that will put both CB&Q paint schemes of the era on the job.

Meanwhile, thev other SHABBONA engines continue to perform flawlessly,
particularly SW-1 #22 which continues to switch The Humongous Co. when the CB&Q
engine isn't there. At Terminal District, GP-9 #42 has been serving as the
assigned yard engine.
