boB,

I was on a weekend shoot at the Port of Houston. Next to my client's dock was a fairly large Cargill grain facility. They roster two vintage SW's, one looked dead, but the other was constantly moving. They also seemed to have a lease unit that looked like a mid-age GP that worked the other side of the yard. Both days I was there there were several strings of either BNSF or UP multiple six axle power bringing in trains. Next to that were Port Terminal Genset engines of unknown heritage working just outside the facilities.

So if you like to roster a variety of engine types, ages and paint schemes, a facility like this is ideal. BTW, the Port of Houston's engines resemble the SHS Boston and Maine F units in color--very nicely done. In the past they used whatever the member railroads didn't want!

As a matter of information, SHABBONA RR GP-9 #42 has also gone to a new owner. That means that SHABBONA is now an ALCO road (Do I see Andre grinning?) with the exception of an EMD SW-1 (the Humongous Co. plant switcher) and two FP-7's for passenger duty.
