. . . . . . . But it is an interesting story to be sure. Tom Hawley visited
the Enhornings (brothers?) in their later years. He can probably add a bit
to this story.. . . . . . . .

I think others have pretty well covered the subject, but yes, I was in the
Ludington MI area once, decided to see if I could find them, and I did -
father and son, I think. I bought some shells and other component odds &
ends. This was at the point where many were losing faith that they would
ever see a product, but the Enhornings were still saying they would
eventually succeed. They even talked about making their own rare-earth
motors.

The various drive units that were made, in my non-guaranteed memory,
included first Cascade - Jon Beverige. He used Lindsay (sp?) components. I
got two of his, made an A-B drive system with two big motors in the A unit,
Hobbytown Multi-unit connecting to the B unit which just had a lot of lead
weight. I still have it, haven't run it in years. A friend painted the
shells NYC, and it was good enough at the time, but today one would look at
them and immediately say "Used HO decals, didn't you?" He said he had a
hard time finding the right paint to stick to that plastic.

Omnicon sold kits containing mostly NWSL parts for the drive, and shells
painted by Tom Lennon. I had a bunch of them; wonder where they are. Had a
friend assemble some of the drive units, and some went well, others he could
never get the gear noise out of.
