On the other hand, our S Flyer, SHS and AM engines performed near flawlessly
for 25 years in downtown St. Louis from T-day through New Years each year. Too
bad, now that Macys' has chosen to close their downtown store, that downtown
St. Louis will no longer have a Christmas train display. We're trying to find a
new home for it.

In the interview they mention that HO trains really aren't meant for that
kind of long hard usage. A much smaller local layout built in a children's
hospital has some of the same issues, with the worst performer being Thomas the
Tank Engine.

I would hope that the S layout in Cleveland or Cincinnati ?? is getting
better performance from their engines.

I do remember reading an article of a prior 0 layout in Chicago where it was
stated that the side rods, bearings and most everything else that moved was
totally worn out.

Nice story tonight on WTTW's Chicago Tonight on the guy who manages the
Museum of Science and Industry's behemoth model train layout.
