On the other hand, our S Flyer, SHS and AM engines performed near flawlessly for 25 years in downtown St. Louis from T-day through New Years each year. Too bad, now that Macys' has chosen to close their downtown store, that downtown St. Louis will no longer have a Christmas train display. We're trying to find a new home for it. Gerry Evans

In the interview they mention that HO trains really aren't meant for that kind of long hard usage. A much smaller local layout built in a children's hospital has some of the same issues, with the worst performer being Thomas the Tank Engine. I would hope that the S layout in Cleveland or Cincinnati ?? is getting better performance from their engines. I do remember reading an article of a prior 0 layout in Chicago where it was stated that the side rods, bearings and most everything else that moved was totally worn out.
