Just so most of you know, there were YEARS of the Keystone without a model photo in the issues. It is billed as a historical publication and models are not historical. Some were pushing or models to be included and is why the split happened for that starting of The Keystone Modeler. I had to push a bit to get my model photos included in MY article. I am friends with the editor, and said did you READ my article? 2 photos are included - which trust me really is a big deal - even though they are not color.
With the ongoing change of members in management, most of which are modelers now, it will be interesting to see what might change in the Keystone content in the future. I don't write many articles. With being dyslexic it takes me an obscene amount of time. I also don't think much of what I do crosses over into something that someone else would actually do, so I would be writing the article to myself. Right or wrong, that is mostly how I feel. Who else do you know making their own parts in Solidworks, and spending 6 years to complete one locomotive? My last "big" article was in Mainline Modeler, which I still think is pretty cool. That is pretty big time. I was up for the NASG Writers award and did not get it. I think Ed L won that year - whatever year it was. So while my current article is not about "make this", it is more than a casual mention of my modeling in S Scale to a non S Scale audience - sort of an evolution of me, my modeling skills, and interests in modeling and the prototype. It's the whole can of nuts in one article. I am not even getting my hopes up about winning the NASG Writers award though. We have Brooks being Mr Ubiquitous S. Isn't Brooks going to be on 60 Minutes tonight? (:->) And I am Scott Pelly. Tonight we have Mr Brooks Stover - the man behind the movement and promotion of outstanding S Scale Model Railroading. He is known and loved around the world for his moving functioning art from - for accurately depicting the Buffalo Creek and Gauley in 1/64th scale. I really AM just goofing. It's all good!
