I couldn't assemble any more trucks for my rolling stock, so decided to
experiment and put a pair of heavy duty Andrews trucks unde my CNW mill gon,
still waiting for papers to move off road, starting with
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/S-Scale/photos/album/1775582643/pic/384306210/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=41&count=20&dir=asc)
which shows a N'eastern truck modified with Kadee #637 truck springs. The mill
gon turned out great, with those large journals behind the sill steps,
rmeniniscent of those nights at Joliet Yard when they would nudge my foot as we
shoved into a storage track, just to let me know they were there - I'm sure Bud
R. can elaborate further. The hopper car is a AM,with Andrews trucks, also a
closeup, and then an old Marx stock car with Andrews trucks and Kadee #637
truck springs.

I also assembled the last Andrews truck with the available parts I still had,
and substituted needle point Axle 33" wheelsets for blunt axle variety, and
they also worked well, showing that N''eastern trucks can be assembled with
1/16" brass bearings and needlepoint axles with no ill effects - in fact, they
roll easier because of less friction between the axles and the bearings.

In other news, I have commissioned Roy Meisner to cast me some more truck
bolsters so I can finish out the trucks I still have on hand
