Ben,

I own a few of the Liberty brake wheels but they are etched brass. These were part of a AB brake kit for some kind of hopper. I purchased mine from Hoquat a long time ago. I'm not interested in selling them however. I know that the SHS parts are available and they had a couple of wheels, I'm sure somebody has some PRS wheels hiding someplace too. My favorites were the really old ones that were kind of a series spirals that Kemtron once made. You solder those to a piano wire staff and that assembly will outlast the car it's attached too. Perhaps Smoky Jim has some and don't forget the Grandt AB set and the brass versions sold by BTS.

I have the problem of telling what style I need and what I have--Miner, Equipco, etc.

Bob,
I suppose you bought it about a zillion years ago. There doesn't appear to be an outfit by that name in KC anymore.

Does anyone make a good modern replacement brake wheel for S? I'm missing about 6 of them in a recent significant purchase of used SSA Bethgon coal porters.
