David,

When designing my layout I was encouraged by a friend to go with an
elaborate design, which included moving a bathroom door in the basement. In
the end I went super simple at least for now. I got trains running quickly.
Best of all I have complete access around the circumference without ONE duck
under.

Having been to many layout tours the duck unders get really old really fast.
One O Scale layout got to be like an aerobic exercise because the room
(Overhead of a 4 car garage) was cut in half lengthwise to form 2 large oval
operating pits. I eventually found a stool and all but fell asleep.

So for me eliminating ALL duck unders even if it greatly reduces the track
plan is the way to go.

Thank You,
Bill Lane
