I've used the rail brown marker for painting rails. The problem for me is I've only seen them in sets of three colors and my rail is laid on stained wooden ties, so I don't want to paint the ties. I've found that using a regular bottle of paint and a disposable microbrush of the appropriate size for the rail works just as well.
Of course with Floquil being discontinued, it may not matter.
