Bill is pretty much correct on all accounts, and perhaps that's one of the benefits of attending a meeting/convention.

I brought in a speaker from a neighboring city to talk to our all scale group. He publishes books so he didn't want his stuff distributed. On the other hand a local modeler did video recordings of a ATSF modeler's convention--he did a creditable job quality-wise and apparently there weren't any copyright conflicts.

This is frequent a topic just before or after any convention. The convention host team would have to be very well staffed and techy to some degree. There can be some issues though, possibly of restricted materials used without permission in front of 20 people are now widely distributed. How/where do non-attendees access the presentations? YouTube? Audience questions would frequently not be heard on your typical camcorder set up. You would need a roving microphone to pull it off well. Who has such A/V equipment?

It is a significant amount of work after the convention for maybe someone to watch later. I could imagine once the banquet is over the hosts are glad the convention is over as well!

I have never seen/heard where the clinics were recorded. Maybe the NMRA?

Thank You,
Bill Lane
