Update: with local storage backend, 8GB got copied successfully (by local cp and CIFS) and parsed by s3ql:
[root@strobiserver mnt]# s3qlstat /mnt/s3ql-ttt-local/ Directory entries: 1479 Inodes: 1481 Data blocks: 1543 Total data size: 7922.60 MiB After de-duplication: 7851.53 MiB (99.10% of total) After compression: 7673.06 MiB (96.85% of total, 97.73% of de-duplicated) Database size: 0.56 MiB (uncompressed) (some values do not take into account not-yet-uploaded dirty blocks in cache) The load of the server was remarkably higher than with sshfs, but never reached higher than 5.
