*SSN PROTEST ACTION IN COMMEMORATION OF APRIL 12 AND IN SOLIDARITY WITH KURDISH PEOPLE. *
SSN- STATEMENT: 12th April 12, 2016. The Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] will tomorrow the 13th April, 2016 join NEHAWU, COSATU, SACP, WFTU, The South African Peace Initiative, a section of the World Peace Council, and solidarity organisations in protest against the 12 April 1973 Royal Decree by King Sobhuza and against Turkey for its negative role as a reactionary vassal state of American imperialism in the Middle East. The SSN calls on all its structures in Gauteng province and member organisations, to join the solidarity protest as detailed bellow: We are protesting against Turkey’s negative role as a reactionary vassal state of American imperialism in the Middle East and its covert support for terrorist networks including ISIS. Turkey is also complicit as a US proxy in the aggression against the encirclement of Russia through the new frontier war using the Nagorno-Karabh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We deem these an indictment on Turkey and part of a disastrous and hostile foreign policy against its neighbours in the region and abroad. We further support the struggle of the Kurdish people for freedom and democracy. >From the Turkish Embassy, we will protest at the Swaziland embassy in commemoration of the 43rd anniversary of the 12 April 1973 Royal Decree by King Sobhuza 11. This decree which is a source of the oppression of the people of Swaziland, led to the repeal of the 1968 Independence Constitution and the vesting of all executive, judicial and legislative powers in the institution of the monarch. Political parties remain banned and any form of political activity is criminalised.
