Assalam alaykom, This is not directly related to Sabily development but as this is a software area specialized in open source I really want to know what do you think the future of Sun's open source projects after Oracle has bought Sun, if you are not aware of Suns open source projects let me give a hint:
1. Open Office (an office suit that we are all familiar with). 2. MySQL DB (Almost every open source project that uses a DB uses MySQL). 3. VirtualBox (Virtualization Software). 4. JAVA (THE programing language). 5. GlassFish (web server like apache TomCat...). 6. NetBeans (a Free IDE for programing in general not only for java!). 7. and finally Open solaris! which is a server side software application! now what are the pros and cons of this bargain??? what projects will advance and what projects will day? and please don't forget that for example mySql used to be the real enemy for Oracel DB (regular, express, and light)... and finally what are the other options for open source dreamers if this turns to be a real bad thing! wassalam. - Fadi F.
