I meant "SGI IRIX".
But the point is, whilst there are now different binary downloads for Windows,
Linux and OS X, there is only one for Linux, which is better than the situation
with Sage.
The installer they use is an executable shell script, which starts:

I'm guessing there is some way to identify what parts are needed on a system,
and only install the ones needed. It probably means the download is bigger, but
more universal would be good IMHO unless it added considerably to the bulk.
I'm not suggesting putting OS X, Linux and Solaris binaries together, but
putting one binary that works on all Linux systems and ideally another which
works on all OS X systems.
