Hi Julien, hi all,

I tried to use your scripts on sage-6.5.rc0 on debian jessie.
Compilation failed on polybori (but much of the rest compiled fine). I
describe below what steps I achieved

   * sqlalchemy is not anymore a pkg, so one dependency less. I just had
to remove the corresponding line in the m4 script

Good point.

   * I created the directory /usr/share/sagemath with appropriate rights

Why was that necessary ?

The compilation did want to install the data pkg into
/usr/share/sagemath (and I certainly do not want to compile as root).
And indeed there is some stuff installed in there (right now:
combinatorial design data, pari galois polynomial data, and the graph
database).

All of which should come from debian -- I packaged them all :-P

Please use the configure script as a guide : as long as it wants to compile more than libgap, cddlib, singular and jmol, you're still missing debian packages on your system!

   * lcalc was not able to compile as it did not find pari. It was
possible to get it right by modifying a patch there (certainly not
optimal, see the attachment)

I mentioned that debian-science's lcalc package is good to go.

   * polybori failed but it seems much more of a problem (see the log)

If you look in configure.ac, I mention there is a bug in the debian
package ; if I remember well, the bug description explains a (dirty)
workaround.

I will try again. Thanks for your explanations.

In fact, I now pushed a fixed polybori to the debian-science repository, so if you use that, you're good to go with polybori.

Snark on #debian-science
