Reading Trac#17966 <http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/17966> (which, BTW, I missed when searching Trac for "Boost") led me to conclude that this updating should be distinct of the question of whether to include or not the whole Boost, which depends on issues I do not understand. The ticket I opened to update this library has been closed. Therefore, I won't touch it.
