Most of the time, the problems with 32-bit architectures come from
incomplete doctests that are only tested on 64-bit architecture (typically
hashes give two different values). Is there any real issue with 32-bit,
like the impossibility to build an important package ? There is something
written about cryptominisat but i could not find the ticket.

32-bit architecture can be completely emulated with qemu/kvm. It is
possible to automatically set up a series of 32-bit VM and build/test Sage
there at http://sagebuilder.metelu.net/ which are scripts that i used when
there was not enough binary builds for Debian and Ubuntu a few months ago.

+1, the Sage Debian Live USB, which aims at running on most personal
computers without further installation, uses a 32-bit kernel so that it
can run on both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
