I would think so too. What's more, I'd say "git trac checkout <ticket 
number>" on a ticket that has no branch connected (yet) should do whatever 
is best. I don't think it bases a branch on master, but on develop. If it's 
clear what the best base is for new ticket branches, I'd say "git trac 
checkout" should do that.
