Another alternative is to display all the packages in a slow scrolling horizontal list ScrollingPackagePrototype.html <http://www.labri.fr/perso/vklein/SageMath%20-%20Prototype%20Scrolling%20Package.html> . Im not sure if the move is too disturbing for the reader or not.
