Okay, so to conclude: 1) The problem is in the linker/whatever in older Darwin not picking up the flint libraries. For whatever reason. See http://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/16017 for any more discussion on the "right" solution, though since I know very little about what's going on I'm more likely to just ask to patch module_list.py since that was deemed acceptable for Cygwin and presumably can't hurt.
