Built from tarball on OS X, 10.6.8 (Dual 6-core Xeons) and 10.10.2 (Quad core
Core i7).
Build completed w/o problems on both systems.
Testing ('ptestlong') on both platforms:
10.10.2: all tests passed!
10.6.8: one doctest failure:
