FWIW, Debian testing recently upgraded libsymmetrica from 2.0 to 3.0 ; a 
Sage linked to libsymmetrica.so.2 crashes at startup. Workaround : 
reconfigure to *not* use system’s symmetrica.

Worth an issue ?
