I'm forwarding this email from Michael Somos to sage-support. The items about the Galois fields database being broken are in the 4.0.1.a0 version of the installation manual. Can anyone on this list determine if a track ticket should be opened for this issue?

I did look at the "interact:" demos and I am impressed with them. <deleted lots of complaints about the Mma install> Finally, a little question about the "Sage Installation Guide Release 4.0" dated May 20, 2009. On page 11 on the top and bottom it claims that there is a problem with PARI Galois fields database. Same on page 14. I tried relocating my installation and it seems to me that the "datadir" is updated correctly. Please do a double check to see if this problem has been corrected but not removed from the documentation.
