I think you could just downloading the Ubuntu 10.04 Sage Linux binary
and extract it, and use it in VMware.

Sage 4.4.4 will probably include none of the 132 tickets that
currently "need review":

Sage 4.4.4 will probably be released Wednesday.

Maybe Sage-4.5 will contain some of the above tickets though.  Get reviewing!
