I'm a huge fan of the interact site (http://interact.sagemath.org/) and use it for teaching a lot so first of all thanks to whoever put it together it's awesome!
Byron Varberg, a student at Drake U., designed and put this site together (I've forwarded this to him so he knows you like it!)
The other day I noticed that some spam got on there so I think my query might be related to that. Up until a few weeks back it was possible to post and it would appear directly but recently it looks like there's another step in the procedure (perhaps to avoid above spam). Just checking if I'm right and we now need to wait a bit before posts get OK'd (which is fair enough) or if I'm doing something wrong. Only asking as I've written two small posts that I'd ideally like my students to play with in class tomorrow... (http://interact.sagemath.org/node/71 and http://interact.sagemath.org/node/72)
Yes, last week I noticed some spam too. I made it so that posts must be moderated, and made it so people can flag comments as spam. If two people moderate a comment as spam, it disappears. Right now I'm the only one moderating posts (which includes moderating any revision of a post). Of course, that's a problem having a single point of failure, so I'm making you a moderator as well (and Karl-Dieter, finally). Good luck :). Now if there are posts to moderate, they'll appear on the right side of pages. Click on the post, and there will be a small bar under the title of the post. Click on the "Publish" option and then click the Publish button.
Another approach is that we can make it possible to just flag posts as spam. If two or more people flag a post as spam, it can be removed. Would that be better than pushing things in to a moderation queue? I'll also look into making a whitelist for moderation.
