I still get

/usr/lib/sagemath/local/bin/sage: line 836: sage-logger: command not found
Do you have as script called sage-logger on your system?
Yes I do.
$ sage -sh
(sage-sh) $ whereis sage-logger
sage-logger: /opt/sage/build/bin/sage-logger
