I guess I should make clear that the only reason I am touching the time
series and the real roots files are because they rather heavily used the
GSL structures underlying RDF and CDF vectors. If the authors want to
change it to numpy or to their own double array structure, they are more
than welcome. Needless to say, if I end up doing it, we should call for
the original authors' comments before putting this patch in.
