I think even the "most trivial" embeddings of absolute fields into CC will
be very useful, and a step forward. As this is the first real use of
embeddings in the coercion model, I worked on coercion and embeddings at
the same time.
I don't embeddings are "almost certainly broken", but keep trying to break
it. Not doing everything one can hope for is acceptable to me, as long as
it fails gracefully. And it doesn't break currently working code.
And thanks again for taking the time to look at this and try it out, it's
a huge patch.
